{"id":1015,"date":"2022-04-05T10:59:13","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T09:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiaformula4.com\/?p=686"},"modified":"2022-04-05T10:59:13","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T09:59:13","slug":"joel-pearson-to-make-racing-return-with-chris-dittmann-racing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/joel-pearson-to-make-racing-return-with-chris-dittmann-racing\/","title":{"rendered":"Joel Pearson to make racing return with Chris Dittmann Racing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Joel Pearson will make a full-time return to racing after agreeing a deal with Chris Dittmann Racing to contest the 2022 ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.fiaformula4.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-04-05-at-10.22.50-AM-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-687 lazyload\" width=\"1133\" height=\"755\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1133px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1133\/755;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The 16-year-old was forced to take a sabbatical from his racing career in 2021 after being diagnosed with bone cancer, putting a promising rise through the ranks \u2013 including podium finishes and consistent, front-running form in the 2020 Ginetta Junior Championship \u2013 on hold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, having undergone specialist treatment and chemotherapy in Germany, Pearson is ready to pick up where he left off and recently tested the new Tatuus T-421 with Tewkesbury-based CDR in preparation for his return to competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m absolutely ecstatic to confirm I will be racing in ROKiT British F4 with Chris Dittmann Racing in 2022,\u201d said Pearson, speaking at the Silverstone season launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt has been a very challenging twelve months to get back to this position, but I\u2019m immensely grateful for all the support I\u2019ve received, not just from family and friends, but the entire motorsport community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt has been a huge motivation for me throughout my recovery to get back in the car and back to what I love doing, which is racing. I\u2019m now looking forward to the next chapter in my career with CDR, and hopefully to a successful season ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere will be plenty to learn, and it is an incredibly competitive field, but all we can do is work hard, leave no stone unturned and put our best foot forward.
