Hitech GP’s Alex Dunne made the perfect start to this weekends ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA triple header at Thruxton after securing a double Omologato Pole Position in qualifying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The points leader hit the front in the final five minutes of the session, posting a benchmark time of 1:10.536 seconds, before shaving another hundredth off his time on his next lap to keep Carlin trio Ugo Ugochukwu, Oliver Gray and Louis Sharp at arm’s length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By dint of having the best second-fastest time, the Irish teen will also start from the front for the ITV4-televised finale on Sunday afternoon. Behind Carlin’s trio in fifth spot was Phinsys by Argenti’s Aiden Neate, the first of several cars to post late improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hitech GP’s Eduardo Coseteng was a mere 0.008 seconds further back in sixth spot, the Filipino racer another to make a late bid for the sharp end of the timesheets. JHR’s Joseph Loake – one of two prior Thruxton race winners in the field this weekend – had run as high as fourth, but slipped back to seventh late on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His team-mates Georgi Dimitrov and Noah Lisle were eighth and tenth respectively, the pair sandwiching Mercedes-AMG junior Daniel Guinchard (Argenti).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening race at 16:05 (BST) later this afternoon will feature an all-Virtuosi sixth row, Edward Pearson fending off team-mate Michael Shin on this occasion, with Edward’s namesake Joel Pearson (Chris Dittmann Racing) next in 13th spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Less than a tenth split Adam Fitzgerald (Argenti) and Oliver Stewart (Hitech) in the battle for 14th and 15th, with Daniel Mavlyutov (Hitech) rounding out the 16-strong field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
