{"id":1568,"date":"2022-07-22T13:14:52","date_gmt":"2022-07-22T12:14:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiaformula4.com\/?p=1568"},"modified":"2022-07-22T13:14:52","modified_gmt":"2022-07-22T12:14:52","slug":"daniel-guinchard-were-improving-every-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/daniel-guinchard-were-improving-every-race\/","title":{"rendered":"Daniel Guinchard: &#8220;We&#8217;re improving every race&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Phinsys by Argenti&#8217;s Daniel Guinchard says he wants to be fighting for race victories on a more regular basis as the 2022 ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA prepares to resume at Knockhill next week (29-31 July).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.fiaformula4.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/49_1110-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1569 lazyload\" width=\"1129\" height=\"753\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1129px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1129\/753;\" \/><figcaption>Photo: Jakob Ebrey Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As with most drivers, the step up from karting, in which Guinchard was a two-time British champion last season, to single seaters has been a steep learning curve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 15-year-old enjoyed a string of consistent points finishes in the opening rounds, before netting a breakthrough podium behind Argenti team-mate Aiden Neate in the second contest at Thruxton in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That momentum put Guinchard on the right track, and the Mercedes-AMG F1 junior went one better at Oulton Park next time out, charging from fifth to the victory. Since, he has proven to be a thorn in the side of the main championship protagonists, and now sits joint sixth, tied on 96 points with JHR&#8217;s Georgi Dimitrov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The season has been tougher than expected but the team and I are working very hard to get where we want to be and we\u2019re improving constantly every race,&#8221; says Guinchard. &#8220;The highlight has to be getting my first car racing win at Oulton park in race two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The new car definitely requires a different technique and driving style compared to the old car.
