The Carlin driver emerged as a contender for pole around the 1.27-mile Fife circuit in the closing minutes of the session, as times continued to fall on a drying track surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having fallen just 0.012 seconds shy of team-mate Louis Sharp’s benchmark on his first representative lap, the McLaren prot\u00e9g\u00e9 stormed to the top of the times on his second, a 48.237 enough to secure him a second Omologato pole over JHR Developments’ Joseph Loake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crucially for points leader Alex Dunne (Hitech GP), a late rise up the order put him third, and ahead of both his chief title rival Ollie Gray (Carlin) and Sharp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phinsys by Argenti’s Aiden Neate completed a top six separated by a mere 0.15 seconds, highlighting the strength in depth of the competition in Britain’s FIA Formula 4 series this season, and setting up a potentially thrilling start to the weekend’s racing action at 16:15 (BST) this afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eduardo Coseteng’s steady weekend continued, the Filipino racer steering his Hitech GP-run challenger to seventh spot, just ahead of home hero Oliver Stewart, the Scot taking eighth and a strong third for Sunday’s reverse grid contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On pole for that race will be Adam Fitzgerald (Argenti), who rounded out the top ten behind JHR’s Georgi Dimitrov. Mercedes-AMG junior Daniel Guinchard was 11th, with Noah Lisle (JHR) for company on the sixth row of the grid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Shin won out in an all-Virtuosi Racing battle for 13th and 14th respectively, the field completed by Hitech’s Daniel Mavlyutov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
