JHR Developments\u2019 Joseph Loake set the benchmark time in ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA practice at Silverstone today [23 September].<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a quickest time of 54.480 seconds around the 1.6-mile National circuit, the Macclesfield-based racer kept champion-elect Alex Dunne (Hitech GP) at arm\u2019s length \u2013 just – the pair separated by a mere 0.015s on combined times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire 20-car field set their best lap times in the afternoon session, with the morning affected by rain and a damp-but-drying surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ugo Ugochukwu (Carlin) was the only other driver to get within a tenth of Loake\u2019s time, the McLaren junior third ahead of Aiden Neate (Phinsys by Argenti) and Georgi Dimitrov (JHR Developments).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlin\u2019s Ollie Gray \u2013 the only likely threat to Dunne\u2019s march towards the coveted crown \u2013 was sixth fastest, 0.013s quicker than Mercedes-AMG prot\u00e9g\u00e9 Daniel Guinchard, the Argenti challenger sporting an updated livery for the final two events in reference to title sponsors Phinsys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marcos Flack led the charge for the returning Fortec Motorsport outfit, the Australian eighth. Virtuosi Racing\u2019s Edward Pearson was ninth, with Eduardo Coseteng rounding out the top ten runners for Hitech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coseteng’s team mate Oliver Stewart was next, with Adam Fitzgerald (Argenti) and James Higgins (Fortec) separated by just seven thousandths in 12th and 13th respectively. Carlin’s Louis Sharp took 14th spot, with JHR’s Noah Lisle rounding out a top 15 split by just 0.4 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Dittmann Racing duo Jack Sherwood and Jaden Pariat sandwiched Michael Shin (Virtuosi) in 16th, 17th and 18th, the field completed by Hitech’s Daniel Mavlyutov and Argenti’s Isaac Barasahi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competitive action begins with qualifying at 10:55 on Saturday morning ahead of the opening race at 15:50 (all BST). Sunday features another double header, with lights out at 09:35 and 15:05, the latter live on ITV4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
