{"id":1950,"date":"2022-10-09T19:11:44","date_gmt":"2022-10-09T18:11:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiaformula4.com\/?p=1950"},"modified":"2022-10-09T19:11:44","modified_gmt":"2022-10-09T18:11:44","slug":"loake-wins-again-to-bring-down-the-curtain-on-2022-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/loake-wins-again-to-bring-down-the-curtain-on-2022-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Loake wins again to bring down the curtain on 2022 season"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>For the second time this weekend at Brands Hatch, Joseph Loake converted pole position into victory to bring down the curtain on the 2022 ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA season.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-09-at-17.45.29-1-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1951 lazyload\" width=\"1130\" height=\"753\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1130px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1130\/753;\" \/><figcaption>Photo: Jakob Ebrey Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Loake made no mistake from pole position, and again had a clear lead on the run through Paddock for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His nearest challenger was Carlin&#8217;s Ollie Gray who, alongside team mate Louis Sharp, had a storming start and moved up quickly \u00a0to second and third on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Try as Gray might, an opportunity to pass never presented itself. With the race slipping away, the Williams junior switched positions with third-placed Sharp, the extra points allowing the Kiwi to secure fourth overall in the standings over Loake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gap at the flag therefore was a slightly extended 1.9 seconds, as Loake put himself a clear second to Dunne in terms of race wins this campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the best weekend we could have asked for,\u201d admitted Loake. \u201cPole position, fastest lap in both races and both wins [for races set by qualifying]. I couldn\u2019t have done much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOverall, I\u2019m pretty happy with this weekend, it\u2019s just a real shame to miss out on fourth in the championship. At the end of the day, it is what it is, I did the most I could and that\u2019s all I can be happy about.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neate was able to fend off a recovering Pearson for fourth and fifth respectively, and sixth proved enough for McLaren F1 junior Ugo Ugochukwu to wrap up the Rookie Championship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m super happy, this is exactly the weekend we needed,\u201d grinned Ugochukwu. \u201cI just needed to pick up the points throughout all three races, and I\u2019m delighted to clinch the Rookie title.
