{"id":1953,"date":"2022-10-10T10:00:29","date_gmt":"2022-10-10T09:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiaformula4.com\/?p=1953"},"modified":"2022-10-10T10:00:29","modified_gmt":"2022-10-10T09:00:29","slug":"carlin-kick-off-2023-driver-line-up-with-dion-gowda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/carlin-kick-off-2023-driver-line-up-with-dion-gowda\/","title":{"rendered":"Carlin kick off 2023 driver line-up with Dion Gowda"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Carlin have confirmed Indian rising star Dion Gowda as the first driver in their line-up to take on the 2023 ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA season.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.fiaformula4.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Gowda-1MDH8382-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1954 lazyload\" width=\"1137\" height=\"758\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1137px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1137\/758;\" \/><figcaption>Photo: Jakob Ebrey Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite being just 14 years of age, Gowda makes the graduation to Britain\u2019s FIA Formula 4 series with an impressive karting CV, having previously competed across Asia before moving to the UK to pursue his single-seater dream on a globally renowned stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gowda has already begun a comprehensive pre-season induction with the Farnham-based team, including simulator work at their state-of-the-art HQ, with a winter testing programme ahead to help him acclimatize to the Tatuus T-421, second-generation F4 car used in the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m hugely exited to join Carlin for my F4 racing debut,\u201d says Gowda. \u201cCarlin is one of the most successful racing teams in the world, so of course I was thrilled to confirm my place with them in ROKiT British F4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have built a great relationship with the team already and preparations for 2023 are well underway. There will be a lot to learn in my first season stepping up from karting but I\u2019m confident we will be competitive, and I can\u2019t wait to go racing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement comes just a day after Carlin wrapped up both the Rookie title with Ugo Ugochukwu, and a fifth Teams\u2019 title at the Brands Hatch season finale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDion is a very promising young driver with exactly the right attitude,\u201d adds Racing Director, Trevor Carlin.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s keen to learn as much as possible at every test and has a fantastic approach both inside and outside the car.&nbsp; For every rookie there is a lot to learn in the first season of single seaters but we\u2019ve no doubt that Dion will adapt well to that challenge and be a great asset to the team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2023 marks an exciting next chapter for ROKiT British F4 with a grid formed of Europe&#8217;s leading single-seater teams and the brightest talents from around the world.
