Shin picked up crucial mileage in the new-for-2022 Tatuus T-421 car and demonstrated plenty of promise on his debut foray into single seaters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shin will partner Edward Pearson at Virtuosi Racing as the FIA Formula 2 championship contenders expand their operations into the entry-level step on the FIA Single Seater Pathway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m delighted to be joining Virtuosi Racing for the 2022 ROKiT British F4 season,\u201d said Shin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey are such a high level team, and I find it so valuable to be able to learn and develop in that proper environment from early on in my career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have made so much progress in the few days we have done so far and I am excited to keep the improvement going for the rest of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shin made a recent outing at the championship\u2019s first official winter test at Brands Hatch on Tuesday (8 March) and will appear again at Snetterton this Friday (11 March).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Virtuosi\u2019s Team Manager Mark Salmon welcomed Shin into the fold and is looking forward to a strong season ahead for the Norfolk-based outfit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to welcome Michael to Virtuosi Racing,\u201d said Salmon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have started very well in our test programme and I\u2019m looking forward to working with Michael for the rest of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The addition of Shin means that eleven drivers \u2013 among them three Formula 1 juniors \u2013 have now confirmed their spot on the 2022 grid, in what is shaping up to be the most competitive season for the championship to-date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2022 marks a new era in the championship\u2019s history, with new organisers in Motorsport UK and a brand-new chassis in the Tatuus T-421, complete with state-of-the-art safety features such as a Halo-style cockpit protection device, re-inforced side anti-intrusion panels and on-board safety signalling systems.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drivers and teams will also have a brand new Abarth engine and Pirelli control tyres to get to grips with, meaning the standard of competition on-track is set to be higher than ever before.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series commences at Donington Park at the end of April and runs through until the finale at Brands Hatch in October, with action broadcast live and free-to-air on ITV4.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Virtuosi Racing have confirmed Michael Shin as the second member of their line-up for the 2022 ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":4093,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4375","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4375","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=4375"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4375\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/4093"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4375"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=4375"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=4375"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
