{"id":7211,"date":"2024-10-08T14:30:08","date_gmt":"2024-10-08T14:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/?p=7211"},"modified":"2024-10-10T13:50:57","modified_gmt":"2024-10-10T13:50:57","slug":"ella-lloyd-joins-mclaren-driver-development-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/ella-lloyd-joins-mclaren-driver-development-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"ELLA LLOYD JOINS MCLAREN DRIVER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2024 British F4 driver Ella Lloyd has joined the McLaren Driver Development programme, leading to a host of exciting opportunities for the rest of this year and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old from Pontypridd, Wales, enjoyed a fantastic debut year in British F4 &#8211; her first in single seaters &#8211; finishing 11th overall with 99 points, and picking up four podiums along the way.<\/p>\n<p>Lloyd will compete in F1 Academy next season, joining Rodin Motorsport and representing the papaya of McLaren on track.<\/p>\n<p>She will also participate in the upcoming FIA Formula E Women&#8217;s Test with the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team, which takes place in Valencia on 7 November 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited to be joining the McLaren Driver Development programme as the team\u2019s F1 ACADEMY driver in 2025,\u201d said Lloyd. \u201cIt\u2019s an honour to drive for a team that has such a great racing history, and also a long track record for developing talent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith McLaren, I now have everything I need to keep developing and pushing the boundaries as a female in motorsport. Thank you to Zak Brown, Stephanie Carlin and the entire McLaren team for their faith in me.
