Zack Scoular, who raced for Xcel Motorsport in this season’s ROKiT British F4 championship, has won the 2024 Tony Quinn Foundation Shootout over in New Zealand.<\/p>\n

The prize is $70,000 in support towards a campaign in the 2025 Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship.<\/p>\n

16-year-old Scoular, who is based in the UAE and is of Australian and New Zealand nationality, finished 15th overall out of 33 drivers in his rookie year of British F4 and fifth in the Rookie Cup. He earned one overall podium – with a season’s best finish of third at Brands Hatch Indy – and seven Rookie Cup podiums.<\/p>\n

All three drivers who made the final of the shootout were assessed across a rigorous set of on- and off-track criteria.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m feeling really good about it; a lot of work went into this and for it to pay off, it means so much to me and my family as well,” said Scoular.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a lot of pressure behind it with it being $70,000 on the line, but I handled it the best I could and extracted everything I could.<\/p>\n

“When I look back at it, there\u2019s not much more I could have done. I\u2019m really happy with how I performed.”<\/p>\n

\u201cZack was fastest in the qualifying session and in the race runs,” added Tony Quinn Foundation Trustee Daniel Gaunt.<\/p>\n

“Commercially, he\u2019s well-travelled, having competed in the UAE and Europe.”<\/p>\n

Previous winners of the Tony Quinn Foundation Shootout, Liam Sceats and Callum Hedge, have enjoyed successful seasons in the United States and were involved in recent Indy NXT tests at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship begins on January 9-12 at Taupo International Motorsport Park and wraps up with the 69th Running of the New Zealand Grand Prix at Highlands Motorsport Park on February 7-9, following five consecutive weeks of competition.<\/p>\n
