{"id":9181,"date":"2025-08-13T10:04:04","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T10:04:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/?p=9181"},"modified":"2025-08-13T10:14:27","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T10:14:27","slug":"british-f4-set-for-scottish-showdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fiaformula4.com\/british-f4-set-for-scottish-showdown\/","title":{"rendered":"British F4 set for Scottish showdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"Body\">The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA heads north of the border to Scotland this weekend (August 16-17), with Knockhill providing the setting for the latest thrilling chapter of what has been a blockbuster 2025 season so far.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Body\">Beloved by competitors and spectators alike, the undulating 1.27-mile Fife venue is synonymous for producing edge-of-the-seat entertainment; and this year\u2019s visit should be no different, especially as the battle for title supremacy is finely poised.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Body\">Returning to British shores following an action-packed trip to Zandvoort in the Netherlands, a total of ten different drivers have now stood on the top of the podium this season \u2013 however, it is Hitech TGR\u2019s Fionn McLaughlin that everyone is chasing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Body\">McLaughlin tallied his third win of the campaign last time out and that, along with his impressive consistency, has culminated in him heading to the Scottish highlands with a healthy 28.5-point advantage &#8211; the biggest of the season to date.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Body\">While the Red Bull Junior has breathing space atop the standings, he can\u2019t for a second rest on his laurels as both Martin Moln\u00e1r (Virtuosi Racing) and Jimmy Piszcyk (Rodin Motorsport) \u2013 who have previously achieved podium finishes at this circuit \u2013 will be going all-out to close the deficit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Body\">Outside the top three, both Henry Joslyn (Fortec Motorsport) and lead Challenge Cup competitor Tommy Harfield (Chris Dittmann Racing) have underlined their credentials as ones to watch, and are each chasing their maiden wins in Britain\u2019s Formula 4 category.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Body\">Sitting with them in the standings are two drivers eager to add to own their silverware collections, having both triumphed more than once this year; Argenti Motorsport\u2019s August Raber and Rodin Motorsport\u2019s Adam Al Azhari.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Default\">Such is the strength in depth of this year\u2019s field, race wins have also fallen the way of Thomas Bearman (Hitech TGR), Chase Fernandez (Xcel Motorsport) and most recently at Zandvoort, Ary Bansal (Fortec Motorsport).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Default\">Both Mercedes F1 Junior Ethan Jeff-Hall (Argenti Motorsport) and McLaren driver Ella Lloyd (Rodin Motorsport) grabbed a podium finish in Zandvoort, and will be seeking to continue this positive momentum into Knockhill.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Default\">Another driver who impressed in the Netherlands was Jeff-Hall\u2019s team-mate Arjen Kr\u00e4ling, who was finally able to race after turning 15 and managed to bag two Rookie podiums on his debut weekend. Xcel Motorsport duo Cole Hewetson and Theo Palmer also clinched Rookie silverware at Zandvoort.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Default\">Elsewhere, Rowan Campbell-Pilling (JHR Developments) will be eyeing success at a track he enjoys; Henry Mercier (Argenti Motorsport) and Alba Larsen (Chris Dittmann Racing) \u2013 recently announced as a 2026 Ferrari Academy driver \u2013 will want to add to their Rookie tallies in Scotland; and Xavier Avramides (Hitech TGR) and Yuhao Fu (Xcel Motorsport) are aiming to bounce back from disappointment last time out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Default\">Two new faces will also join the fray this weekend, as Joseph Smith makes the step up from the Ginetta Junior Championship to see out the remainder of the season with Hitech TGR, whilst Haarni Sadiq lines up with JHR Developments. Rodin Motorsport will also welcome back Guy Albag, who featured for them at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"Default\">Qualifying for the C1RCUIT Watches Pole Position Award takes place at 09:00 on Saturday before Race 1 gets underway later that afternoon at 13:40.
